gold earrings

This year I decided I wanted to get my best friend something special for Christmas this year. I always buy her something she needs, but this year I thought it would be nice to buy her a pair of gold earrings. She loves jewelry and is one of those people who would rather give to others than to splurge on something like gold earrings for herself. In fact, in the 20 years that we have been best friends, I don't thinks she's ever given herself a pair of gold earrings, or any type of jewelry. She's bought a watch, but out of necessity, and would rather give and help others. Personally, her giving spirit is one of the things I love most about her. She is a wonderful human being, and I've seen her give gifts to others that she wouldn't give herself. I think that's one of the reasons that I wanted to get her something special this year, and why gold earrings were the first thing that came to mind.

Not too long ago, she asked if she could borrow a pair of dangling gold earrings that I own to wear with a beautiful black dress that she bought for herself last year. She is going to a Christmas gala and wants to look her best. I think she owns one pair of gold earrings, and while those would look great, I can see why she would want a pair of dangling earrings, because it would look more elegant than the casual gold earrings that she owns. She borrowed mine, and I could tell how much she loved the gold earrings, so I decided that I would give her a similar pair for Christmas this year. She's always there for me no matter what I may need, and I want her to know just how much I appreciate that.
