I Wanted A Pair of the Silver Earrings For Myself |

Aside from all the fun I have shopping for family and friends, I always love it when my sons come to me to ask what they think would be a good gift idea for their girlfriends. This year, both of my sons found me in the kitchen after Thanksgiving to ask what they should do. One wanted to give his girlfriend silver earrings, while the other was looking towards giving his girlfriend gold earrings. The girls are actually friends, so my younger son was worried that if he gave his girlfriend silver earrings, that he would look cheap, compared to his older brother who happens to have a little more money to spend and wanted to give his girlfriend gold earrings. I tried to explain to both boys that it really shouldn't matter what the gift is, but that it's the thought behind it that counts.
Once I'd given my seal of approval to the gold earrings that my oldest son wanted to order his girlfriend, I went to the laptop with my youngest son to help him find a pair of silver earrings. I explained to him that he should also not forget that his older brother had been dating his girlfriend for more than a year, while he's been dating this girl for a little more than a month. I think at that point, he finally understood the difference between the gifts, and he said that he'd be happy giving her a nice pair of silver earrings. It didn't take us too long and we found Silver & Onyx Dangle Earrings that I found at Ro-Bear Connection who can be found online by visiting www.ro-bearconnection.com. My son really loved the silver earrings, and he decided to order them for his girlfriend. I actually considered ordering a pair of the silver earrings for myself, because all I could think about was how great they would look with a black sweater that I'd just ordered. I knew my son would be mortified if I even suggested ordering the same pair of silver earrings, so I refrained and figured I would have to find another pair some other time in the near future.
After we finished the order, my son and I headed back to the kitchen for a slice of pecan pie. We talked about the holidays and what he wanted to get his dad, which is something that he needs to confirm with his brother since they are going in halves. They grow up so quickly. It seems like yesterday I was changing their diapers and they were sitting on Santa's knee. |
