Every year I face the same issue, my birthday is lost in the celebration of Christmas. My birthday is only two days before Christmas. It was very difficult to deal with as a kid. I always got combo gifts. You know the ones that are for my birthday and Christmas. This year my family is making a point of having a birthday party for me. Actually my husband is holding a birthday party for me. We keep getting confirmations for our Christmas party and we have to keep reminding people it is actually my birthday party. Even with the mix ups, I am very excited to have my very first real birthday party.

My party is being held in the party room at my favorite restaurant. They are even letting us take down the Christmas decorations so we can put up birthday decorations. I am trying to stay away from anything that looks like Christmas decorations at my party. Though seeing as my favorite color is red it is still going to look Christmassy. My kids suggested we go with a tropical island or under the sea theme party, very non-Christmassy. It could work, and sounds like we could have a lot of fun.

I told my family that I would like a pair of silver earrings for my birthday. Of course I found them online when I was Christmas shopping.
