My best friend called me last night and caught me in the middle of packing for our upcoming cruise. We still have a couple of weeks before we leave, but she wanted to know if I was taking my diamond earrings along for one of the evenings that we plan to dress up for dinner. I admit that I hadn’t given jewelry much thought at this point, but she said she really wanted to take her diamond earrings and thought they’d be safe in the stateroom safe. I agreed and told her that I still wasn’t sure what I was going to do, although I knew they’d look fabulous with the dress I was planning to wear. The diamond earrings were a gift that we gave to each other when we both turned 40 last year. I’d seen them online for a really great price and she commented that we should splurge and buy them for our birthdays. That’s exactly what we did. I bought her the pair of diamond earrings and she bought them for me. I think she’s right; I should take them on the cruise. After all, that’s what we bought them for.
